Preferred browser for LearnJCU

Week 1 is underway and it's great to see many of you accessing LearnJCU. We're still ironing out some minor glitches in the new version, but the subject materials and calendar settings are now loaded. Note that Mozilla Firefox is the preferred browser for use with LearnJCU, which seems to load much faster than Internet Explorer and doesn't prompt you for security settings at every page. You can download Mozilla for free at http://www.mozilla-europe.org/en/firefox/

Please be patient this week if you are experiencing difficulty accessing LearnJCU - with the start of the academic year comes the surge of new users all trying to access LJCU at once (evenings are usually the best time to get online). This can often result in overload and connection timeouts. If there are any major disruptions to the systems (email, LJCU, eStudent, etc.) a notice will be placed on the JCU Computing Services Bulletins at http://www.jcu.edu.au/bulletin/

When the dust settles, please take the time to introduce yourself on the discussion boards - once there is one posting, this usually has a snowball effect, and it proves to be a very useful tool for sharing tips, support, and finding "study buddies".

If you find any links that are no longer working in the study guides or on LearnJCU, please let me know so I can update these.

Regards,
Judy.
