Now open: Scholarships for RN/ RMs working in Aboriginal Medical Service

Professional Development Scholarships for nurses and midwives working in an Aboriginal Medical Service (AMS)

Overview:
The scheme is an Australian Government initiative seeking to support registered and enrolled nurses working in an AMS to undertake professional development at an Australian university or registered training organisation (RTO).

Application dates:
NAHSSS: Professional Development for nurses working in an Aboriginal Medical Service is now open. Applications close on 13 April 2012.

Selection criteria: Scholarships will be awarded on the recommendation of a selection committee and will be based on how you address the following criteria
  • How will/do your studies relate to your work in an AMS
  • How does your chosen course benefit Indigenous Australians
  • Your demonstrated commitment to utilise your knowledge with Indigenous Australians in the future.

Value of scholarship: Scholarships are worth up to $15 000 each. This funding is available to be paid either as a one-off payment or split payments over the duration of study depending upon the course being undertaken.
