Subject Withdrawal Important Dates

Students who wish to withdraw from subjects this study period (without incurring financial penalty) must do so via eStudent by the Census Date Thursday 25th August. Please see “Component Withdrawal” at eStudent Online Help for instructions on how to do this in eStudent.

Withdrawing from subjects after Census Date

Students can withdraw online from subjects for each study period up to two weeks before the end date of the Study Period. You must read the warning messages in eStudent as financial penalties will apply.

The last date for withdrawal without academic penalty is Friday 16th September. This means you can withdraw from the subject without incurring an "incomplete fail" grade. However, you will still incur the financial costs of the subject (SLE/HELP debt or tuition fee).

Domestic students who withdraw from a subject after its census date and have not completed the requirements for the subject may apply for re-credit of SLE, remission of HELP debt and/or refund of upfront payment. Each application will be examined and determined on its merits. Acting on behalf of the Government, and based upon the documentation you supply, JCU will decide to re-credit SLE, remit HELP debt and/or refund payment if satisfied that special circumstances apply. See http://www.jcu.edu.au/student/fees/dcs/recredit/index.htm for further information and to download the application form.
